The partnership between Škoda Auto and the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is a long-standing one, as the carmaker has beenthe the Official Main Sponsor of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship for 30 years and is extending the partnership. No wonder Škoda cars are an unmissable aspect of the championship. The most visible cars are the ones displayed near the ice in the arena, of course, but lots more cars from the Czech carmaker feature during the event.
There are always two cars with striking paint jobs by the ice in the arenas themselves. In Tampere, Finland, these are the Enyaq Coupé RS iV in Mamba Green and the Enyaq RS iV in Phoenix Orange, two electric cars with all-wheel drive, 220 kW of power and a range of over 500 kilometres per charge. Strong players.
The arena in Riga will be graced by Enyaq Coupé SportLine iV in Phoenix Orange and the Octavia Estate RS iV in Mamba Green. The Enyaq Coupé SportLine iV follows on from the sporty look of the RS models, but it’s available in a wider range of configurations with 132, 150 or 195 kW of power. The Octavia Estate RS iV is a plug-in hybrid with a system output of 180 kW and a purely electric range of up to 60 kilometres.
The backbone of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship fleet are the vehicles that provide transport during the tournament. There are 45 of them this year and all of them are electrified. Twenty-seven cars will serve in Tampere, Finland, and eighteen in Riga, Latvia. In Tampere, the line-up is made up of a combination of Enyaq iV, Enyaq Coupé iV and Superb Combi iV models, all of which will be in Moon White, with the added championship graphics, of course. In Riga, the Enyaq iV and Enyaq Coupé iV are in Graphite Grey.
In addition, fans will also meet Škoda cars in the Official Fan Zones. In the Latvian capital there are two cars in the Fan Zone located in front of Arena Riga, one Enyaq Coupé RS iV in Graphite Grey and one Enyaq RS iV in Moon White. Inside the arena, visitors will be greeted by another Enyaq Coupé RS iV in the vibrant Mamba Green colour scheme. In Tampere all three cars are in the Official Fan Zone located at a 3 minute walk from the arena. These are the Octavia Estate RS iV in Mamba Green, the Enyaq RS iV in Race Blue and the Enyaq Coupé iV in Moon White.
