Sustainable synergy shared between RRG Bradford Toyota & Inspire Business Park

In the vibrant city of Bradford, here at RRG Toyota, we’re always looking for exciting local partnership opportunities where local businesses can support each other.

We recently paid a visit to the Inspire Bradford Business Park located near the area of Greengates; showcasing the Toyota Proace Electric van. Officially opened in 2013, and built on sustainable principles, the park offers 14 working units, 16 offices and 3 training rooms over 2 buildings.

When meeting with the Chief Officer, Sue Hodgson, she explained some of the environmental credentials that Inspire Business Park is built on. These include timber cladding on the walls that doesn’t require painting, a rainwater harvesting system which stores water falling on the roof to supply toilets on site and a ground source heat pump which utilises heat in the soil to maintain the underfloor heating system temperature. Meanwhile photovoltaic cells installed on the roof generate around 50% of the electricity needed to power Inspire.

When built, the site was the largest in Europe to have used a straw bale insulation system; creating a building with thermal performance up to 3 times higher than the relevant building regulations. This helps to save money and all important C02 emissions.

This focus on generating green energy and reducing carbon footprint perfectly reflects the intentions and strategy of the Toyota brand. Pioneering hybrid technology over 20 years ago with the Prius model, Toyota has led the way in developing low-emission vehicles to reduce C02 output which in-turn benefits customers with cars that are more efficient and cost-effective to run.

Today, a range of self-charging and plug-in hybrid, battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are available in the range to continue delivering on Toyota’s environmental commitments. From a business perspective, the Proace Electric van showcases this perfectly. With a powerful electric motor and choice of two batteries, 50kWh or 75 kWh, the Proace Electric delivers responsive performance and a driving range of up to 142* miles and 205* miles respectively. All this while offering the capability and versatility of the conventional Proace van.

If you’re a local business in Bradford looking for both sustainable office space combined with running efficient vehicles on your fleet, Inspire Business Park is the ideal environment combining attractive lease terms, a variety of workspace and ethical credentials, while the Proace Electric van delivers low running costs, great performance and low Benefit in Kind tax.
