PEUGEOT has announced that the 48V self-charging HYBRID powertrain is now open for orders on the new 2008, with first customer deliveries due in March. In addition, the new E-2008 will now also be available with a 100kW (136hp) electric motor and 50kWh battery. The new E-2008 is available with 0% APR over four years and no minimum deposit, as well as £4,000 support, thanks to the PEUGEOT Switch Grant.
New to the 2008 range, the HYBRID 136 e-DSC6 combines a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a new six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox incorporating a 21kW electric motor and a 0.9kWh 48V Lithium-ion battery to deliver improved efficiency and extra torque at low revs.
The 2008’s new hybrid powertrain offers up to 1km of electric-only range for low-speed urban cruising, improved fuel economy for fewer trips to the pumps, and a reduction in CO2 of up to 26g/km compared to the existing PureTech 130 EAT8 engine. Thanks to the CO2 reduction, the hybrid powertrain has a reduced rate of Vehicle Excise Duty and a lower rate of Benefit-in-Kind Tax for company car drivers.
In addition to the hybrid powertrain, the 100kW (136hp) electric powertrain with the 50kWh battery is now available on the new E-2008, delivering a range of up to 214 miles (WLTP), and zero-emission performance and comfort at a lower entry price point. With this powertrain, customers can achieve a 20-80% charge in less than 30 minutes when using a 100kW DC rapid charger, extending to 7 hours and 30 minutes when using a 7.4kW AC fast charger.
In addition, the existing PureTech 100 powertrain with a six-speed manual transmission is now available on Allure trim models, meaning the higher specification of Allure becomes even more affordable with the reduced price walk from the Active trim.
