Introducing a true legend of the RRG Toyota Team….
80 year old, Norman Kay recently clocked up a massive career milestone - his 50th year working for the RRG Group and Toyota.
The occasion was celebrated by directors and colleagues at RRG Toyota Bury and Norman was presented with some holiday vouchers to enable him to have a well earned break.
Remarkably, in addition to his long service with RRG, Norman was 80 years old earlier this year and he is probably the longest serving employee within the entire Toyota dealer network.
Norman began working at the Bolton Road Toyota dealership in 1974, only a few years after RRG opened their first Toyota franchise in 1970.
Norman began his career working as a Workshop Foreman at RRG Toyota Bolton.
In1981, Norman moved to the original RRG Toyota Bury centre on Bolton Road as Service Manager, and in 1993 he moved to the brand-new Toyota site, just down the road on Bolton Street, which is the current location of RRG Toyota Bury
In 1998 Norman decided to step down to a Service Advisor role, but in 2002 he took on the role of warranty supervisor and remains in that role today.
During Norman's incredible career with RRG Toyota he has met many great friends including his career long friend Richard Hinckley who is also still with RRG Toyota and will also celebrate 50 years service in 3 years time.
At Norman's recent celebration lunch RRG Group Vice-Chairman Arran Bangham commended on his service saying“I would like to thank Norman for his dedication and service to RRG Toyota over many many years. Although the times and industry continue to change, the need for people like Norman remains, He lives and breaths our values of being Passionate, Professional and Fair.
We congratulate Norman for this amazing achievement and look forward to enjoying his company for years to come."
