SEMA16: Kia take to the slopes

The SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show is underway in the Las Vagas Convention Center, bringing together the worlds brightest minds and hottest products into one place. The trade-only event hosts a veraity of specialist equipment.

One stand that is getting a lot of attention this year is Kia; with the introduction of the Sorento Ski Gondola. Similar to the Nissan Rogue Warrior concept shown earlier this year, the Sorento is designer to shuttle excited skiers up and down the slopes with ease.

In colabortation with Lux Motorwerks, the team have added a series of enhancing features...

  • Dominator rubber tracks with orange powder coating, for enhanced grip in the rough terrain and visablity.
  • A custom roof rack for ski's and poles.
  • LED Light bars around the car for enhanced visability.
  • As well as an open design interior fitted with a tablet computer, waterproof seating and a large boot space for equipment.

Kia have confirmed the motor is autonomous but minimal information has been released. It certainly has some challenges up and down the slopes.

We want to hear your opinion. Would you be seen traveling up and down the slopes in this Kia?
