Meet the Toyota C-HR+, the stylish, all-new battery electric vehicle (BEV) that competes in the heart of Europe’s vital mid-size C-SUV market. Available now, it joins the all-new Urban Cruiser and recently refreshed bZ4X to give us a compelling trio of BEVs across the B-, C- and D-SUV segments. Though inspired by the current Toyota C-HR, the Toyota C-HR+ is a standalone model and therefore rightly described as ‘all-new’. It is built on our dedicated e-TNGA modular platform for BEVs and has a unique body and interior. The front bumper, grille and headlight designs are also exclusive to the model, while the dynamic coupe-crossover silhouette associated with its namesake is maintained. The coupe-like roofline is achieved without compromising rear headroom, and the steep angle of the rear window culminates in a neatly integrated spoiler and full LED rear combination lights.
The all-new Toyota C-HR+ offers greater cabin space and more generous headroom than might be expected of a C-segment SUV. This is because the relatively long wheelbase allows almost a metre between the hip points of the front and rear occupants, while still providing 416 litres of load space. The interior itself is modern and streamlined, creating an open and welcoming feel, with high-quality materials and sophisticated ambient lighting.

The equipment features acknowledge how the vehicle will be a shared space and not just about the driver. Hence the provision of two wireless smartphone chargers and four USB ports (two in front, two in rear) to ensure everyone on board can be connected when on the move. There is also rear cabin air conditioning controls, and a panoramic roof that brings natural light to all parts of the interior.
The Toyota C-HR+ is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. Recognising different customer needs and priorities, the model is available in three grades and two battery options. Entry-level Icon grade is equipped with a 57.7kWh battery, while mid-range Design and top-spec Excel grades receive the larger 77kWh battery pack.

Optimised aerodynamics across all models help to maximise the driving range, with the larger battery option delivering a maximum WLTP driving range of up to 377 miles. An 11kW onboard charger is provided as standard on Icon and Design grades, with a 22kW unit provided on Excel models. However, all models are equipped with fast DC charging that can achieve speeds of up to 150kW.
Each battery pack is covered by our Battery Care Programme, which covers it for up to ten years of vehicle age, or up to one million miles driven, subject to an annual battery health check. Customers will also appreciate a new battery pre-conditioning feature that will improve charging performance in most conditions. Further benefits are gained from an energy-saving heat pump for the air conditioning system, and electrically heated seats and steering wheel.
Rewarding dynamic performance and a fun-to-drive character are key appeal points. In addition to the fundamental strength, rigidity and agility of the e-TNGA platform, the suspension components have been uniquely tuned and the electric power steering has been remapped for responsiveness. Gains have been made in stability through increased body rigidity and a lower centre of gravity than the Toyota C-HR.
The Toyota C-HR+’s advanced looks and powertrain are matched by the latest onboard technologies. All versions benefit from an array of active safety and driver assistance systems that come within the Toyota Safety Sense umbrella.
A 14-inch multimedia display is a standard feature of all models, and forms a focal point in the front cabin design. The navigation system includes a dedicated EV routing function that calculates routes with convenient charging station options, according to the car’s state of battery charge and available driving range. The MyToyota app allows owners to monitor and manage key aspects of their vehicle, including charging status, charging time, driving range and usage data.
