Double honours were secured by the Toyota Professional range of light commercial vehicles in the 2024 Fleet News Awards, announced at a presentation dinner in London last night (13 March).
The Toyota Hilux was named the Best All-terrain Workhorse, winning from a shortlist that also included the Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial, while the Toyota Proace City collected the award for the Best Small Van for the second year running.
Commenting on Hilux, the award judges remarked:“Toyota is back in the market with its updated Hilux. The facelift has revitalised it, while dealer and manufacturer support are great, with an excellent warranty. The vehicle is ‘bombproof’ – it’s competent on and off-road and is popular with drivers, with a good range of engines.”
The judges highlighted the Toyota difference that sets Proace City apart from related models from other manufacturers, stating: “Proace City is a step ahead of its Stellantis stablemates, with a longer warranty, better manufacturer support and after sales. In fleet, driver acceptance is good. Toyota is steadily upping its game, with continuous improvement, especially on reliability. The Proace City is a proven vehicle and recent upgrades mean it remains the one to beat.”
Neil Broad, General Manager One Toyota Fleet Services, said:“These awards for Hilux and Proace City are appreciated and significant recognition for our LCV fleet and business strategy. We have made major investments to offer fleet customers not just great Toyota Professional products but also service and support that reflect their priorities and deliver peace of mind, whether they are major operators with multiple vehicles or small traders whose business depends perhaps on just a single van. There is also our unique benefit of a manufacturer warranty of up to 10 year or 100,000 miles on all our vehicles.
“This year will see significant development of our range with battery electric options across our entire new-look Proace family, including the all-new Proace Max, a heavy-duty van that will give us comprehensive market coverage”
