New Toyota PROACE VERSO
If you are looking for a spacious MPV, the latest PROACE VERSO could be just what you need. This eight-seater comes in three trim levels (Shuttle, Family and VIP) and three body styles (Compact, Medium and Long).
Exterior design
Each model features two sliding side doors, two fixed side windows and a window incorporated into the rear tailgate. Smart-looking body-coloured fixtures include bumpers, door handles and (power-adjustable and heated) door mirrors. Each variant also features privacy glass, which is fitted in rear windows. The vehicle has 16-inch steel wheels as standard, while Family and VIP grades come with 17-inch five-double-spoke alloy wheels. Exterior lighting comprises, among other things, automatic headlights, front fog lamps and daytime running lights (the latter available as LEDs with VIP trims).
Interior design
A three-seat front bench provides the driver with adjustable lumbar support and VIP trims also provide this for front-row passengers. Occupant capacity varies depending on the body style chosen, and breaks down as follows: Compact (eight people); Medium (between eight and nine travellers); Long (seven or nine occupants).
Standard features include power-operated front windows with one-touch facility, automatic air conditioning with rear-compartment air circulation, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and a rear-window defogger and wiper. All three rows each feature a 12-volt power outlet.

Performance
A standard-issue 1.6-litre 115bhp diesel engine is paired with six-speed manual transmission. This delivers up to 56.5mpg and a 137g/km CO2 emissions figure. Automatic transmission is available with the 2.0-litre 180bhp diesel unit.
Technology and safety
An eight-speaker audio system is included as standard. VIP grades come with a premium surround-sound system that features nine loudspeakers. Included are DAB radio, an AM/FM tuner, Bluetooth connectivity and USB and AUX inputs. Family and VIP trims also feature a seven-inch touchscreen and a navigation system.
The PROACE VERSO comes with a five-star crash-test rating, as awarded by Euro NCAP. Safety features fitted as standard include Vehicle Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Hill-start Assist Control, ISOFIX preparation and power-operated childproof locks.
