With its advanced safety and driver assistance systems, the Aygo X gives you complete confidence in today’s busy driving environment. Combining camera, radar and sensor technology, the latest version of Toyota Safety Sense helps make every journey safer and easier.
Pre-collision System (PCS)
Pre-Collision System can detect and help you avoid collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and motorbikes. It works by alerting the driver with audio and visual warnings and brake assistance. If the driver doesn’t manage to brake in time the brakes automatically engage to prevent or mitigate a collision. Additionally, Intersection Collision Avoidance Support and Emergency Steering Assist support in the day when turning at junctions and making evasive manoeuvres.
Full Range Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Toyota Safety Sense’s Full-Range Adaptive Cruise Control enables the car to maintain a constant speed without the use of the accelerator pedal, keeping a minimum, pre-set distance from the vehicle in front. If this distance falls, the system reduces speed to preserve the distance between the car and the vehicle ahead, applying the brakes and slowing to a stop if necessary. If the distance increases, the car will begin accelerating and/or slowing as required, until the traffic flow allows for a return to the pre-selected cruising speed. Please note that this function is only available on vehicles with automatic transmission.
Lane Trace Assist (LTA)
Using a camera sensor and millimeter wave radar, the Lane Trace Assist system uses either the lane markings on the road ahead or the driving path of the vehicle in front to estimate its position on the road. If the car begins to drift from the centre of the lane unintentionally, steering assist is applied to correct its course. Please note that the system can only be used when Lane Departure Alert as well as Full-range Adaptive Cruise Control are turned on.
Road Sign Assist (RSA)
Monitors traffic signs and shows this essential information in clear view on the cockpit display. This includes current speed limits among others. Now the system also warns you if you are about to enter a one-way street the wrong way, and tells you of approaching stop signs and overtaking restrictions.
Driver Attention Alert
This function monitors the vehicle’s position within the lane and the driver’s steering operations in order to detect vehicle sway, which tends to occur when the driver’s ability to concentrate on driving deteriorates due to factors such as drowsiness, inattention or distraction. The driver will be alerted prior to instances such as deviating from the road.
Automatic High Beam
Automatic High Beam is designed to optimise visibility during night driving for all road users. A camera located by the rear-view mirror detects the lights of oncoming vehicles whilst also monitoring the brightness of streetlights. It switches automatically between high and low beam, allowing the driver to concentrate fully on the road, safely and conveniently.
