Kia has picked up a pair of titles at the 2024 Fleet News Awards, with the EV9 and Niro each praised for their considerable fleet appeal.
Announced at a prestigious awards ceremony in London, the Fleet News Awards celebrate the best in fleet suppliers, companies, vehicles and people, with awards judged by its readers.
Adding to its already extensive awards cabinet, the fully electric EV9 won the ‘Electric Car Breakthrough of the Year’ award, thanks to its practical three-row seating, spacious interior, electric range, charging and performance.
Stephen Briers, Editor of Fleet News, commented: “A proper seven-seat full electric car, the EV9 is competitive on price, has excellent range and is a real step up in quality for Kia, which has traditionally been strong in the large people carrier segment. It’s the first truly affordable full size full electric MPV.”
Ever popular with fleets, the Niro won the ‘Best Lower Medium Car’ award for the second year running thanks to its versatility, along with its compelling and appealing choice of three electrified powertrains: fully electric; plug-in hybrid; or hybrid – with each offering efficiency and practicality as standard.
Briers continued:“The Niro covers all the fleet bases with excellent full electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid options – there is something to suit all needs. Practical, with plenty of space, the Niro has robust residual values resulting in competitive running costs. It’s no surprise it was the true fleet best seller in its segment last year.”
John Hargreaves, General Manager for Fleet and Remarketing at Kia UK, commented: “These awards are a fantastic recognition for some of our best and newest products, which offer broad appeal to fleet and business customers.
“With one of the most varied model line-ups available, we are confident that there’s a Kia for every fleet and business.”
Kia has gone from strength-to-strength in the UK, reaching more than 100,000 annual sales for the first time at the end of 2022. The brand has continued to grow sustainably, achieving 107,765 sales in 2023.

48 Hour Test Drive
Fleets looking to go electric can do so by taking out a 48-hour test drive in a Kia EV6 or Niro EV – delivered and collected directly at the business address for added convenience. The service offers customers the chance to experience the benefits of fully electric cars, which include lower running costs, low Benefit-in-Kind tax, and low whole-life costs. https://www.kia.com/uk/business/48hour-test-drive/
