The Mazda2 is a striking car, with muscular features and sleek contours shaped by the marque’s unique design language. From the distinctive front grille to the tailgate, which adds a subtle sporty touch, the Mazda2 looks like fun. The SE-L trim and above boasts 15” alloy wheels and front fog lights. Upgrade to the range-topping Sport variant and you get 16” alloy wheels and LED daytime running lights.
Interior design
Step into the Mazda2’s spacious cabin and you can start to appreciate the superior craftsmanship and the high level of detail. The ergonomic dashboard makes it easy for you to get all the information you need at a glance. Soft leather covers the steering wheel and gear stick and the plush seats offer plenty of space for five people to travel in comfort.
Performance
There are two engines to choose from: a 1.5-litre SKYACTIV-G petrol unit and a 1.5-litre SKYACTIV-D diesel. If you opt for petrol, there are three output levels to choose from: 75ps, 90ps and 114ps. The diesel engine is only available with 105ps. Each option is clean and fuel efficient, but the clear winner is the diesel which returns up to 83.1mpg and emits as little as 89g/km of CO2.
Technology and safety
Mazda’s MZD Connect infotainment system is included in higher grades as standard. It is an intuitive and useful system, with a 7” touchscreen in the dashboard and smartphone compatibility. This gives you hands-free calls and access to your music, social media and DAB radio. Satellite navigation is also a standard feature on all ‘Nav’ variants.
