Experience the Future of Luxury with RRG Lexus

The transition to electric mobility is a core pillar of the Lexus "Experience Amazing" philosophy. At our RRG Lexus centres in Bolton and Stockport, we provide more than just a car; we offer a refined lifestyle. From the agile UX 300e to the visionary RZ 450e, our all-electric range combines sustainable driving with the world-class craftsmanship you expect from Lexus.

INCENTIVES FOR PURCHASING ELECTRIC CARS

In the current economic landscape, electric vehicles remain highly cost-effective through a combination of local and national support. While the 100% London Congestion Charge discount has transitioned to a 25% Auto Pay discount, EV drivers still enjoy full exemptions from Clean Air Zones (CAZ) and ULEZ charges across the UK. Furthermore, many local authorities continue to offer incentivized perks such as discounted parking permits and priority access to charging-equipped bays to encourage sustainable urban travel.

Taxation for zero-emission vehicles has entered a new phase to ensure long-term road funding. As of 2026, new EVs pay a nominal £10 first-year rate, followed by a standard annual VED of £195. Crucially for our Lexus and Kia guests, the threshold for the "Luxury Car Tax" supplement has been raised to £50,000, meaning many premium electric models now avoid the additional £425 annual surcharge that applies to expensive combustion vehicles.

For business users, the financial case for electrification remains unparalleled. The Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate for the 2025/26 tax year is just 3%, significantly lower than the 25% to 37% rates typically seen with petrol or diesel cars. Additionally, while Scottish drivers saw interest-free loans evolve into targeted disposal grants, the combination of low BiK and the £3,750 Electric Car Grant for eligible models continues to make EVs the smartest choice for the modern professional.

HOW LONG DOES FAST CHARGING TAKE?

Lexus electric vehicles are engineered to fit seamlessly into a high-performance lifestyle, offering rapid charging capabilities that ensure you spend more time on the road and less time at the plug.

Lexus RZ (RZ 450e, RZ 300e & RZ 550e)

As the flagship of the Lexus electric range, the Lexus RZ utilizes advanced 150kW DC rapid charging technology.

  • 10% to 80% Charge: Approximately 30 minutes.
  • Ideal for: Motorway journeys where a quick coffee break provides enough power for your next leg.

Lexus UX 300e

The agile UX 300e compact SUV is designed for urban sophistication and efficient commuting.

  • 10% to 80% Charge: Approximately 52 to 60 minutes (using a 50kW DC rapid charger).
  • Note: The UX 300e uses a reliable air-cooled battery system and the widely available CHAdeMO rapid-charging standard.

Actual charging times may vary depending on various factors, including the age, type, condition and temperature of the charging unit and the battery, the starting charge and environmental conditions at the point of use. Charge times may be longer if battery temperature activates safeguarding technology.

^Estimated charging time 0 - 100% battery AC (Alternating Current) based on 6.6KW home wallbox. To fully recharge the UX 300e you will need 53.4 kW. HOW SAFE ARE ELECTRIC CARS?

Safety is the bedrock of the Lexus "Experience Amazing" philosophy. At RRG Lexus, we ensure every electric model—including the all-electric RZ and UX 300e—is equipped with the most advanced protective technology to keep you and your passengers secure.

Lexus Safety System+

Our electric range features the latest generation of this comprehensive suite. The Pre-Collision System (PCS) now includes Intersection Turn Assist, which can detect oncoming vehicles or pedestrians when you are turning at a junction. It also features Emergency Steering Assist, providing gentle course corrections to help you avoid obstacles while maintaining vehicle stability.

Innovative Proactive Protection

  • Safe Exit Assist: In a world-first, Lexus combines the e-Latch electronic door system with the Blind Spot Monitor. If the car detects a cyclist or vehicle approaching from behind, it will prevent the door from being opened, effectively eliminating "dooring" accidents.
  • Proactive Driving Assist (PDA): This intelligent co-pilot uses front cameras to provide subtle braking and steering support during everyday driving—such as when entering a curve or following a vehicle—reducing driver fatigue and maintaining a safe distance.
  • Driver Monitor: A dedicated camera monitors the driver’s condition for signs of fatigue or distraction. If a lack of response is detected, the Emergency Driving Stop System can bring the car to a safe, controlled halt within its lane.

Battery & Structural Integrity

Safety for a Lexus EV starts with its foundation. The high-voltage battery is integrated into the chassis, lowering the center of gravity and reinforcing the car’s structural rigidity. This is complemented by up to nine standard airbags and a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, ensuring maximum protection in the event of an impact.

HOW QUIET IS THE ENGINE?

Lexus has long been the industry benchmark for cabin serenity, and the transition to electric powertrains has allowed our engineers to redefine the "quality of silence." At RRG Lexus Bolton and Stockport, we invite you to experience a driving environment that feels less like a car and more like a private sanctuary.

The Inherently Silent Powertrain

Unlike traditional internal combustion engines, the electric motors in the Lexus RZ and UX 300e operate with almost zero vibration and mechanical noise. This provides a "whisper-quiet" foundation, particularly at urban speeds where the only audible sound is the subtle, legally required pedestrian alert—a gentle hum that ensures safety without intruding on your peace.

Acoustic Engineering and "Omotenashi"

Lexus engineers have gone beyond simply removing the engine. To counter the road and wind noise that often become more noticeable in an EV, we have implemented a suite of passive and active technologies:

  • Acoustic Glass: Laminated glass with a specialized interlayer is used for the windshield and side windows to block high-frequency wind whistle at motorway speeds.
  • Active Noise Control (ANC): Similar to high-end noise-cancelling headphones, this system uses cabin microphones to detect low-frequency road drones and cancels them out by emitting inverted sound waves through the audio speakers.
  • Underbody Insulation: The battery casing itself acts as a massive sound barrier, while additional foam-lined wheel arches and under-carpet damping materials ensure that even the sound of rain or gravel is hushed.

Tuned for Tranquility

Because total silence can sometimes feel unnatural, Lexus has carefully tuned the interior acoustics to ensure you remain connected to the drive. This "Zen" approach focuses on eliminating frequencies that cause driver fatigue while maintaining a warm, consistent cabin atmosphere. Whether you are enjoying the crystal-clear output of the Mark Levinson® Surround Sound system or holding a quiet conversation at 70mph, the Lexus electric range offers a level of refinement that must be heard to be believed.

REMOTE CHARGING WITH LEXUS LINK+

There is an array of connected services developed for your electric car. When charging at home you can use your smartphone to remotely set the time you want charging to commence, the level of charge or even schedule that charging be completed by a set time. Other remote services include setting the climate control so that it’s just the right temperature on chilly mornings.

* This service is only used on the owner’s/registered keeper’s drive. You must not leave a parked vehicle unattended with the engine running whilst stationary on a public road.
