Peugeot’s elegant compact estate car combines style, practicality and performance, and it is easy to see why the 308 SW has won several awards, including Best Estate Car to Lease.
Sleek lines featured in the lights, grille and bonnet extend through the profile of the car for a sophisticated look. Alloy wheels are fitted on all but the entry-level Access trim, with a variety of sizes and styles available through the range. The mid-range Allure features 17-inch alloys, fog lamps and LED headlights as well as roof rails. If you would like tinted glass you will need to upgrade to the GT Line, which also gives you stylish LED sequential indicators and LED fog lamps.
The sophisticated design continues inside the 308 SW, with its uncluttered dashboard and high-quality materials. The roomy interior outstrips its class rivals in terms of space, both for passengers and storage, with a generous boot capacity of 660 litres. With the rear seats folded down the total storage capacity expands to a vast 1,775 litres, giving you plenty of space for transporting bulky items.
Equipment levels are high across all trim levels, with one-touch electric windows, air conditioning and cruise control all included on the entry-level Access edition. Dual-zone climate control, automatic headlights and parking sensors are added on the next level Active trim. Upgrading to the Allure will also get you a colour reversing camera.
Peugeot has employed weight-reduction techniques to optimise the performance of the car, even though it incorporates a longer wheelbase than its hatch counterpart. Better still, performance does not come at the expense of economy, with the engine range including a 1.6-litre diesel which emits CO₂ as low as 85g/km. The entry-level 1.2-litre 109bhp petrol PureTech petrol engine is also economical, with a return of 60.1mpg and CO₂ emissions of 109g/km. The diesel line-up starts with the 1.6-litre 89bhp and finishes with the top-of-the-range 2.0-litre 178bhp GT. Six-speed automatic transmission is available, featuring the latest Quickshift technology.
All models are equipped with DAB radio and Bluetooth, while higher-specification models also benefit from a 9.7-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation. Peugeot has included a wide range of features, such as ABS, ESP and Hill Assist in the 308 SW to keep you and your passengers safe on the road, and the car has been awarded a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Peugeot Connect SOS and Assistance is available as an option across the range. This system automatically contacts the emergency services with your location details in the event that an airbag inflates or seatbelt pre-tensioners are triggered.
