MG Motor achieved impressive growth over the course of 2025 confirming the delivery of its 100,000 EV in its UK home market and also reaching 300,000 vehicle sales across Europe for the first time, representing nearly a 30 percent increase over the previous year.

Strong UK Market Performance
Newly released figures show that MG Motor performed particularly strongly in its UK home market as well as key European countries. In the highly competitive UK market, MG Motor ranked as the 10th best-selling brand for the second consecutive year, reaching 85,155 registrations by the end of 2025 and achieved a +4.4 percent year-on-year uplift in sales, and was one of only five of the Top 10 Brands to increase annual registrations.

Closing the year strongly, MG ranked second in total UK December registrations with 9,846 deliveries, just one position below Volkswagen and the MG HS finished the year as the UK’s 8th best-selling car. Additional and detailed data shows that MG was also the second best-selling brand in Wales during 2025.

Dynamic European Sales
MG Motor’s ambitious and continued investment in representation across Europe also propelled growth, the marque is active in 34 countries and with nearly 1,300 retail partners.

MG Motor Spain was the market’s fifth best-selling brand with 45,168 vehicle registrations (among private customers) and the MG HS PHEV was the market’s top ranked plug-in hybrid with 8,039 customer deliveries (with private buyers) and the MG ZS SUV was Spain’s second most sought-after passenger vehicle and top-selling SUV.

In Italy, MG reached an impressive 50, 064 units, which represented a strong 25 percent increase versus 2024 and 3.3 per cent market share. 53 percent of all sales were electrified cars. MG Italy secured second place in terms of full hybrid vehicle sales.

During 2025, MG Motor significantly strengthened its product offering for European customers and continued to offer more access to new technologies. This included the MGS5 EV SUV and the launch of the technology-focussed MG IM range in the UK, Norway and Switzerland. The MGS6 EV, a spacious, practical and technology-accessible SUV, was unveiled in the last quarter of the year.

Guy Pigounakis, MG UK’s Commercial Director comments:
