With over 40 years experience in the motor industry, The Group specialises in new and used car sales, after sales, parts and accessories as well as operating two highly successful accident repair centres in Swinton and Bolton.
The business began life as an Esso Petrol Station, on Radcliffe Road in Bolton, on 1st June 1967. The Group’s first venture into the motor retail industry followed in 1971 when discussions with Toyota led RRG to become one of the first Toyota franchisees in the UK. Continued growth and acquisitions over the past 40 years have led to the RRG Group becoming the largest Toyota dealer group in Europe with nine Toyota Centres.
RRG moved into the luxury car market when it became one of the first franchisees for Lexus at the inception of the brand into the UK in 1990 and now operates three Lexus Centres in the North West.
The Peugeot franchise was added to the growing RRG Group in the 1990’s operating under the Elton Garages brand. The Peugeot Centres were re-branded in the summer of 2007 to bring them under the strong RRG umbrella and are now known as RRG-Peugeot.
The Mazda franchise was obtained in 2006, when RRG Group acquired Mazda Stockport as part of a five dealership acquisition in January 2006. Expansion followed which saw the Peugeot Centre on Bury New Road in Manchester, change franchise and begin trading as a Mazda Centre on 1st April 2008. This development saw RRG’s Mazda portfolio double to two Centres and the Manchester Centre now caters for the previously un-represented Mazda customer.
2010 saw the introduction of two new franchises to the Group. February saw Suzuki become the first of the new additions with the new dealership located at a new purpose built facility in Stockport on the same site as the Group's existing Stockport centres.
Kia became the second franchise acquisition by the Group in June, with the franchise taking over the operations at our former Peugeot site in Bury to extend RRG's growing diverse portfolio.
2011 has seen continued growth for the Group with the introduction of RRG Mazda Rochdale located on Kingsway in the town and increasing the groups Mazda portfolio to 3 sites.
Whatever your motoring needs, The RRG Group’s experienced and manufacturer qualified staff can provide you with all the products and services that you require, from sales of new and used cars, to after sales, part and accessories; whichever franchise you choose!
