RRG Huddersfield Toyota at the Yorkshire Motorsport Festival 2021
RRG Huddersfield Toyota are delighted to be attending the first Yorkshire Motorsport Festival between 25th-27th June 2021.
Set over a 125-acre outdoor space near Holmfirth, the three-day event promises to be epic. From supercars and vintage classics, to formula one and American hot rods, there will be hundreds of speciality cars on display. Also in the line-up will be trucks, vintage tractors and classic plant vehicles to offer something for all types of vehicle enthusiasts. Around the vehicle displays will be three days of hill climbs featuring Bentleys, Jaguars, sports racing and GT cars; the first time such an event has been held in Yorkshire on a closed public road.
As well as displays and races will be a huge range of family entertainment, from a funfair, sheep theatre, soapbox racing and children’s beach to live music stage and artisan food & drink.
Over on the RRG Huddersfield stand will be a diverse range of the latest Toyota models; all showcasing the best in terms of hybrid and performance technology.
One of those will be the New GR Yaris; a pure performance car, born from Toyota’s title-winning experience in the World Rally Championship. It brings motorsport technology and design directly to the world of the road car, true to TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s ethos for making ever-better cars that are rewarding and fun to drive. The newly developed three-cylinder, 1.6-litre turbocharged engine delivers outstanding acceleration and response- 257bhp and 0-62 mph in just 5.5 seconds to be precise. When coupled with the adjustable Four-Wheel Drive System, the GR Yaris delivers outstanding handling.
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing or GR for short, is a motorsport and performance brand of Toyota founded in 2007, which has recently focused on developing performance-oriented cars for the road as well as track focused cars for events such as World Endurance Racing and the World Rally Championship. Also inspired by the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing division is the GR Sport specification for certain models in the range. With distinct styling cues such as bespoke alloy wheels, side sills and black inserts, the GR Sport specification distinguishes itself from other model versions.
The GR Yaris was the second fully-developed road car released under the brand’s UK division, with the first being the GR Supra; of which two will be on the show stand this year. This legendary model, last on sale in the UK in the 1990s, has been completely re-developed for the 21st century as a sports car in its purest form. Available with either a 2.0 Turbo developing 254bhp or 3.0 6-cylinder making 340bhp, the GR Supra has been conceived as a sports car in its purest form. It is engineered to combine a short wheelbase and wide track; resulting in exceptional agility and stability.
Joining the GR Yaris and Supra on stand are 3 of the most familiar names in the Toyota line-up; the New Yaris, Toyota C-HR and RAV4 SUV. All powered by Toyota’s latest Hybrid technology, they switch seamlessly between petrol and electric power to optimise driving performance. Toyota Self-Charging Hybrid systems also deliver better fuel economy, lower emissions and have no need to plug the car in. Simply get in, buckle up and generate power as you drive. The RAV4 SUV is also available as a Plug-in Hybrid which has a larger battery to offer an extended EV driving range and increased fuel efficiency when charged regularly.
To complete the line-up, we are delighted to have a pre-production model All New Yaris Cross Compact SUV on display; bringing all the qualities of our new-generation Yaris to a high-riding compact SUV. Enjoy enhanced fuel efficiency with our latest self-charging Hybrid system and listen to your favourite tunes via the latest multimedia technology on board, including Apple Car Play and Android Auto along with Toyota Smart Connect available on some versions which includes wireless smartphone integration. Additionally, the option of an intelligent all-wheel drive system for all-weather control means you’ll be exploring in comfort. The All New Yaris Cross Hybrid will be ready for adventure in your city in September 2021.
