How long have you been in your current role and is that the role you started in when you joined RRG?
I started my current job in January 2016 after previously holding the role of Sales Manager since February 2008 when the site was a Peugeot Centre. Before that I was Assistant Sales Manager working under Tony Pringle and Andy Couser at RRG Toyota Bury. My first Job was a Trainee Sales Executive, working for Mike Byrne at RRG Toyota Rochdale – that was back in 1993.
What does your role entail in a couple of sentences?
Being the general manager at Kia Bury, I am responsible for the sale of New and Pre-Owned Vehicles ensuring that they are prepared and maintained to the highest standards and ensuring that all departments work together and deliver the best possible experience to the customer.
Do you enjoy working with the people you do?
I Love it. I look forward to coming to work every single day.
What’s the most rewarding part of the job?
Thank you card from a customer – just means that we have done what we said we would do from the start!

What’s your most memorable experience throughout your career?
My first interview at Rochdale, I was 18/19 years old. After the interview, the Manager, Mike Byrne, told me that there wasn’t a position available. When I got home my mum asked me how I had done; I told her what had happened, then she said that Mike had been on the phone and that I could start the following day! My mum whisked me off to Marks & Spencer for 2 Pairs of Trousers, 5 Shirts, 2 Ties and a pair of shoes - she also claimed the money back on my first ever wage of £96.12 per week.
