Kia's driving school programme
The Kia Venga model is the latest addition to the Kia’s Driving School programme, which provides an all-inclusive package for professional driving instructors.

The Venga joins the Picanto & Rio superminis, the cee’d & pro_cee’d hatchbacks and the Soul urban crossover on the programme offering driving schools a choice of six instruction-ready vehicles.

The Kia Driving School programme offers all ADI & PDI accredited driving instructors the following benefits:

• Up to £750 off the OTR price

• Free insurance for 12 months

• Free dual controls (all models except Picanto)

• Free metallic paint

• Free bumper protection mouldings

• Discount fuel card

• Favourable contract hire rates (subject to status)

• ‘Plug & Play’ speedometer available on all models (£108.70 inc VAT)

The Korean car maker said the Venga is ideal as an instruction vehicle because it is easy to drive, spacious and only four metres long. It combines all the advantages of a family hatchback and a compact five-door MPV together in one package. The European designed and built Venga is available with a choice of 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engines and a 1.4 CRDi diesel engine and comes in three trim levels: Venga 1, Venga 2 and the top-of-the-range Venga 3.

Irrespective of trim level, every Venga has features that instructors and learners alike are sure to appreciate: air conditioning, rake and reach adjustable steering wheel, height adjustable driver’s seat, body coloured bumpers, six airbags and Electronic Stability Control are all standard. To easily monitor pupil’s speeds, an optional ‘plug & play’ speedometer is available on all models. Every new Kia also comes with a seven year/100,000 mile warranty.

Launched in July 2009, the Kia Driving School Programme has been well received by professional driving schools looking for all inclusive instruction vehicle package.  Tony Bedford of AB Driving School in Leeds currently operates eight Rios. He said: “We moved to Kia in 2009 after experiencing reliability issues with a couple of other brands. Having a vehicle off the road is a serious issue for us and our customers so Kia’s product reliability was particularly appealing. The 100,000 mile seven year warranty is great for piece-of-mind and, obviously, competitive pricing makes them a very compelling proposition for instruction vehicles.”

Andrew Sellars, head of fleet & remarketing for Kia Motors (UK) said: “The Kia Driving School Programme has been growing ever since it began last year. Kia is relatively new to this marketplace but now with six models to choose from, some great contract hire deals and a car that’s insured and all ready-to-go I’ve got no doubt that the addition of Venga will see more learners pass their test with flying colours in a Kia.”
