Lexus self-charging hybridshave a petrol engine and an electric motor. As you drive, the vehicle switches between electric, petrol, or a combination of the two depending on the driving conditions. This switch is seamless – there’s no need to manually change any settings. If the electric motor and battery need charging, energy is recovered from the engine or through regenerative braking as you drive, so there’s no need to plug in.
